We believe that much learning can happen outside of the classroom, and our field trips reflect that philosophy. In addition to several small day trips, our students have the opportunity to take a “big” trip each year as missionaries to Guatemala. The students are trained to minister to families in need and bless the people of Guatemala with the good news of Christ. Our Jr. High also gets to travel to Washington, DC, the Jamestown Settlement, Colonial Williamsburg, and Pennsylvania to learn about the Christian foundations upon which our country was built, the sacrifices that many have made for our many freedoms, and the structure of our government.

Guatemala Mission Trip

In Matthew 29, we learn that God tells all his disciples to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” This is called the Great Commission and Biblically speaking, we are all called to go and make disciples. Many say that we can do that in our home town, which is true; but following are some reasons to consider going on a Short-Term Mission Trip.

God has given our students special talents and abilities – some may know and some maybe don’t know yet. They have things inside of them that can impact the life of someone else- maybe it is a song, a word of encouragement, a dance or even a simple hug. Mission trips gives them the opportunity to impact the lives of others.  Not only will they have the opportunity to impact others during their trip, but they will learn valuable skills that could help them impact those in their hometown after they return.  (1 Corinthians 12:7-12)

Mission trips can help them to grow spiritually because they challenge them to put their faith into action. They also put them around a group of people who are all there for one purpose – to serve God and glorify Him through our actions. Mission trips can get us out of the daily distractions in life and help us to put the focus back on where it should be- Jesus Christ.  (Hebrews 12:2)

Our students experience Washington, D.C. from a unique perspective! We get to see how God has stamped His indelible mark on the landmarks, museums, monuments and memorials of our Nation's Capital. We will carry away an unforgettable appreciation of what God's men and women have achieved in laying the foundations for America
