Band night at Angels Stadium: Mark your calendars and join our Grizzly band for a fun day of baseball at Angel Stadium as the Angels take on the Texas Rangers on 4/6 at 1pm. Be sure to get there early as our Grizzly band, along with other local bands will be taking the field to perform the National Anthem! Tickets are $20. 3/22 is the deadline to purchase tickets. Come see Mr. Hernandez for tickets.

2019/2020 Class Changes: This is just a reminder that the last day to make class changes for the 2019/2020 school year is 3/22.

Reminder HS Students leaving the property must leave through the red gate or JH/HS school office. DO NOT exit through the elementary, preschool, or other glass doors. Thank you.

We are pleased to announce that our High School Kairos Club is being honored for their community service at the Downey City Council meeting on Tues., 4/9 at 6:30pm.  Mayor Rick Rodriguez will present our club with an award.  All of you are invited to attend.  Congratulations to Kairos Club.

JH March Madness begins today until Friday during lunch. The teams participating in March Madness can wear free dress only at lunch during the games.

JH Spirit Week: Plan ahead and dress up for the following days next week. Dress code guidelines apply. If you do not dress up, you will need to be in uniform:

  • 3/20: Wacky Wednesday

  • 3/21: Twin Day

  • 3/22: Sports Day

JH ACSI: All Jr. High students are welcome to submit an art piece celebrating the CCCS 40th Anniversary. The categories include drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. Please submit your work to Mrs. Rodriguez by March 19th. Winners will be photographed for the 2018-19 yearbook.

Summer Daycamp, 7th Grade Only: Registration cards have been emailed to your parents. Make sure you get it printed, signed and turned in to the office to sign up!

JH students, you cannot wear Joggers, this is your warning. If you decide to wear them, you will serve a detention after school.

JH Yearbook Club will meet in the Yearbook Room #207 Mondays at lunch. 

JH Heart to Heart ASL group practices will be held at morning break on A Block and at lunch on B Block schedules.

SAT 10 Testing 7th - 11th Grade Students: Testing will take place Mon., 4/8 – Wed., 4/10. Attendance is required since there are no make ups for the tests. You need to be on time for school; do your best on the test, eat a good breakfast and get a good night’s sleep! There will be no make-up.

SAT 10 Testing 12th Grade Students:

During “SAT 10 Testing” our 12th grade students will start school:

Mon., 4/8 at 10:40 | Tues., 4/9 at 11am

Wed., 4/10 at 10:55am | Thurs., 4/11 at 7:45am (full schedule)

If you need to be on campus earlier due to transportation you are welcome to hang out in the quad.

New titles in the Library: Those of you interested in robotics we have a new series “World of Robots” which covers different types of robots from Military to Factory. We also have a new fiction series “free Rein” which is based off the Netflix series. Be sure to stop by and check them out.
